Pizza call left woman injured
A CALL for a pizza delivery which erupted into violence landed a Brierley Hill man before a judge.
Stuart Mallen, from Wells Road, attacked his partner as she made a call for take-away food because he thought she was checking on the contents of his mobile telephone.
On Wednesday March 12, Wolverhampton Crown Court heard Mallen, aged 38, lost his temper and grabbed Susan Hollingsworth by the hair and pulled her back sharply.
Richard Martin, prosecuting, told the court Miss Hollingsworth suffered "quite a severe" head injury which had to be treated at hospital while fillings in her teeth were fractured by the impact.
Mallen admitted assault causing actual bodily harm and he was given a four-month prison sentence suspended for two years.
Judge John Warner ruled he should attend courses to resolve his anger problems and further ordered him to pay £500 towards the costs of the case.
The Judge told Mallen: "You seem to think that it is OK to be violent towards women - it is not.
"It is bullying and cowardly and I take a serious view of people who knock women around."
The Judge warned Mallen, who had a previous conviction for violence involving a woman, he could expect no mercy if he came before a court again in the future.
Neil Williams, defending, said Mallen recognised he had problems that needed addressing and added: "He knows he needs to reduce the risk of further trouble."
He told the court that Mallen's relationship with Miss Hollingsworth was now over and there was a new woman in his life.

i like the way that only one side has been written about this story.it does not mention that she was drunk again and she attacked me.it does not mention that she changed her story 2 minutes before we had to go into court by telling her barrister that i never even hit her and i DID only grab her by the hair. she does not mention that she fell over into a wall and sustained the injuries herself which is what she told her barrister and i pleaded guilty to grabbing her hair in self defence and not smashing her into a brick wall as some other news papers have wrongly printed.its a one sided story as usual with the man being made out to be the guilty one and the woman walking away scott free after lying on two statements and wasting police time..it is not the first time that she has done this to me and it wont be the last time she does it to someone else either..the woman is an alcoholic and needs help..
