| Tragic Casson Pritchard |
THE heartbroken family of a tragic Brierley Hill man who was killed in a road smash near Hagley have paid tribute to their "golden lad".
Casson Pritchard died on Monday (June 16) in an horrific crash on the A491 Hagley to Bromsgrove road.
The 23-year-old had been a front seat passenger in a black Ford Focus - which had been attempting to overtake a motorbike when the car mounted a kerb and flipped over several times before coming to rest on its roof in a layby.
Casson was thrown from the vehicle and was treated by police and paramedics - but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
His family say they have been left devastated by his death.
A statement released yesterday (Wednesday) read: "Casson was a much-loved son, grandson, nephew, brother, uncle and boyfriend.
"He was devoted to his family - in particular his young niece, Teigan.
"He was a hard working young man, running a joint business as a vehicle recovery agent and spending most of his spare time buying and renovating cars. "He was on his way to purchase his next project when he was so tragically taken from us.
"There are no words we can find that describe the devastation we feel at his loss. He will be greatly missed."
Casson was described by one family member as "a golden lad who never gave us a moment's trouble" - and his sister Danielle said: "I was proud to be his sister."
The crash happened at about 10pm on the Lydiate Ash-bound carriageway.
A 20-year-old Brierley Hill man, who was the driver of the car, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and has been released on police bail pending further inquiries.
Police are still urging witnesses or anyone with information to contact Pc Nick Ferguson in the North Worcestershire Road Policing Unit on 08457 444888.
