A FIRE at a Brierley Hill industrial estate involved a large quantity of rubbish, the fire service confirmed today.

The incident at the Premier Trading Estate off Leys Road, in Brockmoor, saw firefighters from Brierley Hill, Stourbridge, Dudley, Tipton and Bilston called out to tackle the flames at around 8.30pm on Saturday April 27 and people were urged to avoid the area.

Thick black smoke was seen billowing from the scene but just over two hours later the incident was brought under control and crews left the scene at 10.50pm.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Fire Service said the fire involved a “large quantity of materials and rubbish”.
